Laura Kinon, BA
Life is hard, I get it. Sometimes, life’s circumstances can make the smallest tasks unbearable and make you feel alone. You don’t have to feel that way because I am here for you. Let’s work together to make things a little easier. Leading with positivity, my calm and compassionate presence helps foster a safe, open, and judgment-free environment where you can be your true self. I returned to school in my 40s after working in business and raising kids. It is never too late to make a change and reach your fullest potential. Life is too short not to at least try!
I am drawn to Somatic and Person-Centered Therapies that focus on the mind/body connection, strength-building, and acceptance. Believing that we hold trauma and anxiety in our bodies, I strive to teach positive and healthy coping strategies and grounding exercises. I am trained in Brainspotting Level 1 and am currently training to be a certified Healing Embodied Somatic Practitioner.
From a Midwest family of seven, with two children of my own, I am acutely aware of navigating complex family dynamics, including raising children, dating, marriage, divorce, single parenthood, life transitions, aging parents, illness, grief, and loss. I also work with children who have experienced the loss of a parent or sibling.
I am currently a Resident Therapist working under the license of my supervisor, Dr. Fritz Galette.
